Warehouse crewing and safety responsibilities.

MCI Outsourcing supplies and manages pickers and packers, inbound and outbound crews, and operators for the material handling equipment on site. The staff are employed by MCI Outsourcing, which holds their contracts, payroll, CPF and work passes where applicable, so your establishment headcount does not change with volume.

Warehouse work carries duties that a staffing contract must set out clearly. Operators need current certification for the equipment they use, and the Workplace Safety and Health Act places duties on the occupier of the premises as well as on the employer of the workers. Before a crew starts, the contract records which party is responsible for site induction, equipment condition and day-to-day supervision.

Throughput varies with peak seasons, promotions and new customer contracts, and a permanent workforce sized for the peak is underused for most of the year. Contracting for the operation allows crew size to change with volume.

Key benefits

01

Certified for the equipment

Operators hold current certification for their equipment, verified before deployment.

02

Safety duties agreed

Responsibility for induction, equipment condition and supervision is divided between occupier and employer in writing.

03

Scales with throughput

Crew size follows volume, so a peak does not add permanent headcount.

04

Employer of record

Contracts, payroll, CPF and work passes are held by MCI Outsourcing.

Common questions

Do the equipment operators hold current certification?

Yes. Operators must hold valid certification for the equipment they operate, and MCI Outsourcing verifies it before deployment.

Who supervises the crew?

An MCI Outsourcing supervisor is accountable for the crew and works to the shift pattern and targets agreed with you. Your team sets the daily priorities, and the supervisor manages attendance, conduct and cover for absence.

Can MCI Outsourcing staff a peak season and then reduce the crew?

Yes. The model is designed for this. Notice periods for increasing and reducing the crew are agreed at the start of the engagement.

How quickly can a crew start?

It depends on the certification the roles require and on whether site induction is ready. Roles for which MCI Outsourcing holds a candidate pool can be filled fastest, and the consultant confirms which roles these are at the briefing.
