MCICareer Services

Executive search and professional recruitment.

MCI Career Services fills mid-senior to C-suite appointments by approaching named individuals directly rather than by advertising the role.

Delivered by MCI Career Services, part of MCI Group of Companies.

How executive search reaches candidates.

Executive search covers appointments from mid-senior level to C-suite. Candidates are identified through targeted headhunting and market mapping rather than advertising, because the strongest candidates are usually employed, performing well and not reading job advertisements.

The consultant first identifies who holds the equivalent role across the market and which of those individuals can be reached, then approaches each one directly with information specific to your business.

Common questions

How is executive search different from general staffing?

General staffing fills entry-level to mid-level roles, largely from candidates who are actively seeking work. Executive search targets named individuals for senior appointments, most of whom are employed and not applying for roles.

How is executive search charged?

A one-time placement fee is charged, on terms agreed with MCI Career Services. Where you require exclusivity and a more extensive mapping exercise, retained search is the alternative and is funded by an upfront retainer.

Will the company's name appear on a job advertisement?

Only if you choose to advertise. Executive search works by direct approach, which reaches candidates who do not read advertisements and keeps your hiring plans private.

Which levels of seniority are covered?

Executive search covers mid-senior level to C-suite. For more junior roles, general staffing is faster and more economical.

How is candidate confidentiality handled?

Approaches are made discreetly, and a candidate's interest is not disclosed to anyone without the candidate's agreement. Most candidates are employed, and a breach of confidentiality would affect them more than any other party.

How long does a search take?

Market mapping accounts for most of the work, so the timeline depends on how specific the brief is and how many people meet it. The consultant provides an estimate when the mandate is agreed.
